Carrick Rangers 4 Wakehurst 2 Saturday 24th September 2015
With Wakehurst missing four regulars and up against a very good Carrick side this turned out to be a really entertaining game. Carrick were quick out of the blocks putting the pressure on the away side without creating any clear chances and Aaron Montgomery looking very dominant in the Blues nets.. With Wakehurst playing on the break it was them who actually looked the more likely to open the scoring with chances for Matthew Kirk, James O'Loughlin and a long range pile driver from Ronan Laverty. However it was Carrick who went in front controversially with the referee giving a harsh penalty for hand ball, and within five minutes awarded the home team another penalty for a tackle inside the box. Half Time 2-0
Carrick looked to have ended the game as a contest when they went 3-0 up from a corner but Wakehurst never let their heads drop and deservedly got a goal back through a brave Ronan Laverty header. This really spurred the Ballymena side on and they were really turning the screw with Dobbin hitting the bar and Laverty missing a chance at the back post. With 15 minutes left Wakehurst got another back and what a goal it was, Declan Dobbin winning the ball back in his own box before setting off on a mazy run beating 3 players a sliding a lovely ball through to Matthew Erwin who from 25 yards hit an unstoppable shot into the top corner. With Wakehurst pushing for the equaliser they got caught with a sucker punch to leave Carrick 4-2 winners. Credit goes to the Wakehurst boys for a real battling performance against a Carrick side riding high in the league. Final score 4-2

Wakehurst 1 Ballybot Celtic 3 Saturday 17th October 2015
Wakehurst went into this game missing 5 players but that did'nt stop them starting the match playing some very good football. With Hayburn and O'Loughlin prominent and Campbell pulling the strings In midfield Wakehurst thought they had taken the lead through a Laverty strike but the referee strangely gave offside. It was no surprise when Wakehurst did go a goal up however, Campbell playing a lovely through ball and James O'Loughlin running on and coolly lobbing it over the advancing keeper. With Hayburn hitting the post from a tight angle it was really one-way traffic. Half time-1-0
The second half started with chances for both teams but it was Celtic who drew level 15 minutes in through a goal mouth scramble.2 more goals in quick succession really did not tell the story of this match in which Wakehurst were the dominant team. Final Score 1-3

Ballyclare Colts 2 Wakehurst 0 Saturday 10th October 2015
Wakehurst went a goal behind after 15 minutes and despite creating a few good scoring opportunities went in at half time behind. Half time 1-0
With Wakehurst dominating the ball, creating and squandering chances it was disappointing when Ballyclare broke away and scored a second in the final minutes of the game. Final score 2-0

Lurgan Celtic 3 Wakehurst 0 Saturday 3rd October 2015
Wakehurst met Celtic for the second time in two weeks this time round in the cup and again came away with the same disappointing 3-0 defeat.
In a first half with both defences on top and Dobbin, Shaw and McLarnon excelling for Wakehurst it was unfortunate that the Lurgan boys took the lead just before half time. Half Time 1-0
This gave Celtic a real boost and within 10 minutes they were 3 up with the game effectively over. Wakehurst to their credit never gave up, battling hard to restore some pride and played some nice football in stages.
Man of the Match: Anthony Shaw

Wakehurst 0 Lurgan Celtic 3 Saturday 26th September 2015
In a first half with both defences on top Wakehurst were disappointed to go a goal down through a defensive error. Try as they may Wakehurst were getting no change from a very strong Celtic rearguard. Half time 0-1
Wakehurst came out and took the game to Lurgan and got hit with a sucker punch conceding a goal against the run of play. Wakehurst then kept pushing forward and in a 20 minute period could and probably should have got back into the game with chances for Anthony Shaw and the more influencing James Hayburn having efforts well saved by the Celtic keeper. You have to take your chances and Wakehurst were made to pay conceding a third near the end.
Some more signs of improvement again this week and hopefully first win is not far away.

Wakehurst 0 Lisburn Distillery 6 Saturday 19th September 2015
Wakehurst never got started in this match against the current league leaders and found themselves three goals down within the first 15 minutes. Shaking off their bad start Wakehurst then grew in confidence and created a few chances of their own, finishing the half a lot brighter. Half time 0-3
Wakehurst certainly made Distillery work harder for the win in the second half but three very late goals flattered the Lisburn side.

Wakehurst 0 Donegal Celtic 3 Saturday 12th September 2015
In a carbon copy of last weeks game Wakehurst U16s competed exceptionally well against their Belfast opponents and were cruelly undone by three really late goals.
In a cagey first half with both defences on top neither team got into any passing rhythm. The main goalscoring chance of the half came when Daniel McCalmont flashed a cross from the right wing, just evading Graeme McCartney at the back post. Half time 0-0
Wakehurst suffered a blow at halftime having to replace Aaron Campbell with a foot injury, but with the wind in their backs and Aaron Montgomery's huge kicks the chances were coming. Laverty and Fleming were starting to influence midfield and it was a kick in the teeth when Wakehurst conceded the first goal 15 minutes from time from a very debatable offside decision. Two more goals in quick succession took the shine off a really encouraging performance against a strong Celtic side which will give confidence for the season ahead. Final score 0-3

Newry City 1 Wakehurst 0 Saturday 5th September
This was the first league game for newly named Wakehurst u16 squad and what a tight and enjoyable game. With Wakehurst giving three new players their debuts this game was end to end stuff. In an open first half Wakehurst could have opened the scoring from two corners going agonisingly close but Newry always very dangerous on the break. Half time score 0-0
The second half started with chances for both teams, James Hayburn having a free kick tipped over the bar and Graham McCartney flashing a shot just past the post for Wakehurst. Newry created a few chances themselves but found it hard to break down the resolute Wakehurst defence of Shaw, Dobbin and Penny and the impressive Montgomery in goals. With 10 minutes remaining Newry's striker got the ball out on the right and hit an unstoppable shot from 25 yards into the top corner. This was a gutsy performance from Wakehurst but unlucky to come away with no points. Full time score 1-0
